Multi-project management

We are now carrying out a wide variety of projects for the municipality of Heligoland as a framework contract partner – starting with a major development program for the entire north-eastern area of the island. As part of this program, the area was to be made more attractive to tourists by means of many sub-projects. Among other things, this included the revitalization of the “Mare Frisicum” swimming pool, the overall open space planning of the spa park and the development of an indoor play hall (Adventure Land) for children.

The multi-project management is aimed at intensive coordination and involvement of all stakeholders such as politicians, residents and authorities in all sub-projects. Other influencing factors are the expected explosive ordnance contamination in all areas and the flood protection to be observed in such an exposed location as the north-east site. Architectural and planning services were put out to tender for all sub-projects and we prepared and supported the procedures.

Living at the lighthouse

Another major project on the island, which we were able to take over halfway through the project, is the “Wohnen am Leuchtturm” project on the island’s Oberland. Here, 79 new but affordable apartments for Heligoland singles and families were built using a modular construction method. The apartments are being built on a total of 10 building plots next to the lighthouse. The components were prefabricated as modules on the mainland and then transported to the island, where they were simply assembled.
