The Ratzeburg elementary school with its St. Georgsberg and Vorstadt sites faces a clear challenge: the number of pupils remains stable, but the demand for places in the open all-day school is increasing significantly. The aim is to create additional childcare places and at the same time develop spaces that meet the educational requirements. Children should not remain in classrooms after lessons, but should be able to learn, play and develop in independent, child-friendly areas. The client is the Ratzeburg School Association together with the town of Ratzeburg and the surrounding municipalities involved.
TePm is providing strategic and moderating support for the process. We have initiated an inter-municipal steering committee with representatives from politics, administration, the school association and the surrounding municipalities and moderate this on an ongoing basis. Within this framework, requirements are coordinated, priorities set and concrete implementation steps prepared. At the same time, we worked with the planners to coordinate the funding application for the new open all-day school and submitted it on time.
The close coordination between several municipalities with different perspectives and responsibilities is particularly challenging. At the same time, the short-notice opening of the funding framework required a concentrated and structured application process.
A key milestone has been reached with the submitted funding application. Now it is a matter of preparing the implementation in a resilient manner and transforming the expansion of all-day care into a feasible construction project. In this way, inter-municipal cooperation will create concrete added value for pupils and families in the region.
